June is Pride month.
"When you put love out in the world it travels, and it can touch people and reach people in ways that we never even expected." - Laverne Cox, an American actress, and LGBTQ+ advocate.
To celebrate Pride - take a stroll down Midtown's rainbow crosswalk in the heart of Midtown at the intersection of 10th & Piedmont - ground central for Atlanta's LGTBQ community.
While most cities celebrate pride in June, Atlanta's Pride celebrations are in the fall. The Atlanta Pride Festival is the largest pride festival in the Southeast! It takes place in Piedmont Park in October (10/8-10) and routinely draws crowds of around 300,000 from both in and out of Atlanta. Atlanta Black Pride Weekend is the largest black gay pride event. It takes place at the beginning of September (9/2 - 9/6) and features events and performances all over the city.
