Since the late 1930s Chastain Park has been considered one of the premier recreational destinations in the Southeast. It is currently the third largest public greenspace in Atlanta behind Westside and Piedmont parks. Each year over 2 million visitors come to Chastain Park to escape the demands of life without leaving the city. Park amenities include a swimming pool, golf course, horse park, art center, and tennis courts.
